The classical sling psychrometer has inherent errors in measuring the true thermodynamic wet bulb. Velocity over the wet bulb is critical in this measurement, and therefore the twirling speeds of a sling psychrometer becomes critical in a true measurement.
When the operator stops twirling the sling psychrometer, the wet bulb depression immediately starts rising so that by the time he takes a reading, another error results. The portable psychrometer eliminates this error by a self-contained miniature fan drawing air over the wet bulb at the correct velocity. The readings are taken while the fan is still sampling the air. National Institute of Standards & Technology traceable thermometers assure accurate temperature readings.
All battery operated psychrometers include 3 “D” cell batteries, water bottle, instruction manual, case and three month warranty on labor, one year parts |
